What a beautiful evening ! I didn't  manage to get out till 7:30 but had a great run except I think I must have swallowed a 100 midges - they were everywhere! Anyone else bothered by bug life on their runs??

Yep! Hate them! Don't want to think about how many I am swallowing ...even got a couple in my eye yesterday - most annoying.

And that is why Laura tries to get you to breathe in through your nose!

Have not seen any here yet... I think it is still too chilly. Frost again this morning!

Well done on your run... may you continue, onwards and upwards...midge free! :)

And that's another reason I prefer running in the morning ;)

Me too! I now understand why runners sometimes find it necessary to spit (yuk). Does anyone know the calorific content of midges? Should I add them to my daily calorie count? However, not all insects are unwelcome, a very pretty butterfly joined me for a few minutes which was a very welcome distraction.

As Mo says in a popular TV commercial, "it's a healthy source of proteins". 😆

Swallowing insects it's an inevitable fact of runners' lives... and the reason why no runner can rightfully claim to be a vegan. 😝

We haven't had any midges here yet (not warm enough and too windy) but dreading when they come out. The b******s won't leave you alone, and being Scottish midges they have a mean bite and seem to get through any amount of clothing.

Try smiling as you run, then when you get home it's just a case of scraping them off your teeth! Just a thought lol.
