... that my core strength has gone on holiday... Guess planks, planks and more planks (thisrunnersrecipes.com/plan... are in store for my off-running days....

Any other recommendations for off-running day exercises (for the 'larger model' :-))?

Couple of suggestions!

Just waiting for the second to start, but the first is a nice simple addition that you can feel without it killing you!

Thanks - that looks brill. I am motivated by goals and targets (hence I loved c25k!) and this might be just the ticket to motivate me.

Thanks!

Watched it and liked it. Thanks for this. Seven minutes is magic. I am starting on it

Me too - that is just what I need, a simple, no-frills, quick exercise routine with a very low barrier to entry. The only obstacle for me to over come, being tall and rather, er, um, chubby, is the law of levers :-).

Yoga - you can watch on YouTube or get a DVD.  Great for stretching out those tight calves and hamstrings

I do walking, like leave the car and take Shank's pony either with or without dog, great free exercise.

I do exercises at home to exercise dvd's.  Mixture of pilates, yoga, plyo, boxing, planks, push ups, lots of the body weight stuff that needs no equipment, strength, cardiovascular,  abs stuff.  The exercises are continuous so you are moving the whole time. The only time you catch your breath is doing abs or squats while lifting weights. Planks and push ups etc take practice, lots of it. I still can't do many of them so use modified moves til I crack it if you can afford Crossfit, or a local equivalent, that would be good. Swimming and cycling too

Our local equivalent of crossfit sounds good but one for the winter I think.  From here on in I shall mostly be at my green gym 😊
