Off the IC I hope....

Well tonight I thought I would try a little run just to see how me knees would be after Monday's wobble, whilst not 100% me thinks they are near enough.

It was raining which helped was only gonna do 15 mins initially but ended up doing the full 30 mins and a whopping 3.99k another few steps and I would have done over 4K again, but I ain't complaining.

So gonna give it a miss tomorrow as did it today and maybe try Wednesday, also gives my knees a bigger break.

Any way one of my mates has had a brainwave about running 10k next year so will have to give it serious thought....never thought I would be thinking about anything like that approx 11 weeks ago or to be honest running at all nevermind for fun and in the rain!!!!!

Ooh, sorry you've been on the IC but sounds like you had a great come back.  Hope it continues to improve and the 10K would give you something good to work towards too :)

Lots of stretching and a foam roller works wonders.

Great that you're back off the IC.

Good to hear you back off the ic, just build back up gradually take extra rest days, don't risk a longer spell out by doing to much to soon

My knees have started to make horrible gristly noises whenever I crouch down or anything, it's not an attractive quality, I have to say :o(

I bet you'd be ready for a 10k in about 6 months at this rate, look how far you've already come this year x

That ain't great, I am back on the IC as my knee decided not to play ball after all again yesterday morning after my run the night before, so Defo not running till next Monday at the earliest so been swimming instead hopefully that will help my knee.

Yes I have been challenged to do a 10k next year so need to get myself in shape and doing it.

Your run for life you are doing are you going to post a link so I/we can sponsor you?

I've bust my knee too now, this is one area I didn't want to compete with you for :o(

I feel like a fraud with the race for life, it's not til June, and I'm hoping by then I'll have a few 5k park runs under my belt, so the RFL doesn't feel as big an event as it would've any other year (which is good, kind of, if a 5k run is now the norm :o) Did you see these?  parkrun.com/

Yes Pam I agree not really up for competing with injuries and let's hope your knee is better soon, I think the swimming has helped as it doesn't hurt every time I walk now so will give it a rest till Monday and try a 20 minute run on it.

Shouldn't feel a fraud re 5K RFL its for a great cause and did you think 3 or 4 months ago you would be in a position to Run the 5k,I for one 4 months ago wouldn't be thinking I would be considering a 10k run in 12 months time.

Thanks for the link will take a look and see what they have nearby and maybe when I can actually do 5k comfortably will have a go.
