Week 5 Run 1 done!

Done! And felt ok after, bit sore on the calves and a pink face, but on the whole when I got into the rhythm of running and breathing it went really well.

Few mental gremlins on the last run but Def Leppard helped me power to the end!

Chuffed 😀

Put negative thoughts aside when you lace up your shoes. They are not on your list of things you need to get you through a session.  Deff Leppard on the other hand, well they are the business!  Nothing like a good dollop of heavy rock to get you through. Aren't you supposed to be listening to the Lovely Laura though? LOL

I can see the timer of the app, and have me own music playing in my ears!

Ive yet to venture outside, its the next goal and I did wonder how folks listen to the app? Do you take your mobile phone?  Mines huge, my adidas run pants have a teeny tiny pocket! I have the app on my phone on the ledge on the treadmill and my mini ipod thing in my ears so I can see the time and when Laura talks I take my headphones out.

Also.....terrible times....I am allergic to my fitbit charge hr, have burn blisters on my wrists 😞 does anyone use a leather strapped hr monitor?

I have always run outdoors!  It's the place to be!  I downloaded the app onto an mp3 player I borrowed, but they are cheap to buy I understand. Lots of folks use the ipod shuffle, which is really small and should fit in your pocket.  It's said that the programme is more stable when put onto the mp3.

I know that folks are allergic to some of the running watches etc, it's been a well-publicised problem.  I have a Polar Ft4 heart monitor with a plastic strap and it's been fine. Could you try putting a smear of Vaseline under the watch before you set out. I think Vaseline stops most things chafing.

Ohhh will try that, didn't think to download to ipod, just had it on my phone, thank you so much 😀

Hmmm I'm sad to stop wearing it as I was loving the hr thingy and seeing when in fat/cardio/peak zones.

Getting fit for me is huge. I've been ill with IBS/thyroid issues for 15 years, finally got it under control and decided at 42 I have to repair, then strengthen my body. 16 lbs down, dropped a ton of body fat and feeling amazing! The sense of achievement is powerful.

Onwards and upwards,  run 2 to look forward too 😎

Ps will try vaseline if I can't find a non allergenic hr tracker x

I ditched a load of lard too, nearly five stones worth.  The difference is astonishing. I eat healthy now and don't drink any more.  Once the weight had gone I felt suddenly very springy so started jogging alongside the dog (he pulls for England).  Then I started C25k and never stopped running since.

The vaseline might help with your current tracker. The vaseline makes a seal that stops friction. Give it a try before you fork out for a new HR tracker

Wow 5 stones is fantastic! Congrats!

Will root around for some vaseline and give it a whirl 😀

Well done on completing that run, I am on the same week.  Nice taste in music too, takes me back to my youth, playing Hysteria after school every day 😀
