I'm up to week 7 & achieving the times but I have no idea what distance I'm covering. I know I will be way off 5k as I'm not running at breakneck speed but would like to know distance so I can step up the challenge. Don't have iphone
Distance...how can I measure???: I'm up to week... - Couch to 5K
Distance...how can I measure???
Hi you can always try the website gb.mapometer.com which allows you to track where you have been on a virtual map, and then it works out the distance for you.
Map my run is very similar.
Just tried it, that's great thanks. Now I know I can create routes to aim for. Many thanks. ( only hitting 3.5km so a long way to go yet before 5k!!!!! Aaaghhh scared now lol
Hi Doodles, you are doing really well, another 1.5 really isn't very far at all, I think I was at a similar distance in week 7.
Whilst it's nice to know where you are with distance, please try not to concentrate on this too much, it's more important to run for the required times. You're speed and distance will increase naturally the more miles you put in as your body and mind get stronger and more able to cope with these new demands. For now, just enjoy following the program.
Thank you. Have started to feel a mild panic when I saw how much more I need to do. Don't feel I could go much faster at mo or wont achieve times. Thanks for encouragement
You don't have much more to do.
W7 has you running for 25 minutes, and W8 will have you running for 28.
Then W9 will have you running for the target 30 minutes. Then you graduate, regardless of the distance that you cover.
Whilst C25K is a catchy title, Couch to Running Three Times per week for 30 minutes or C2R3xpw430m is more accurate about the objective. But just try telling your mates you're doing C2R3xpw430m....
Don't be scared! While on C25K, just do the run times at a comfortable pace. When I graduated, I kept the same slow plod and on a good day, kept going to 5k in 43 minutes, so just doing the times will make you ready to run a 5k, just not in 30 minutes. What's the hurry anyways,mi graduated 40 weeks ago and did a 5k in 34 mins today, fast enough for me plus I've built up to doing one 10k a week - sor the programme works wonders, just enjoy it!
On your computer, go to Google Maps - find your starting place and then righ-click of the mouse - "Measure Distance" and then click away
Alternatively, go to MayMyRun, Runkeepr, GoodRunGuide, GmapPedometer etc.
What phone do you have by the way?
A Motorola E4 I think. Not too sure. Not very techno savvy
Run keeper works for me
dont worry TOO much about distances for now- i remember at your stage i did the same though, you just want to KNOW.. trust the programme , you will end up running 30 minutes.. THEN you can worry about distances
