Well as soon as I started this run I knew I wasn't in the right frame of mind. I did the first 10 mins ok except my knees hurt, the 3 minute walk felt like 10 seconds and then after another 5 mins I had to stop. It was the first time I've ever had to stop, I felt so disappointed. My knees were killing and my chest tight. I walked for about 30 seconds and then made myself finish the final run, with an added 30 seconds for my prides sake. Don't know how week 7 is going to go. π
Week 6 run 3 issues. : Well as soon as I started... - Couch to 5K
Week 6 run 3 issues.
Try not to completely dishearten yourself x
We're allowed bad days and it was just a bad day.
Think back to week 1, you've come a long way. You couldn't have completed week 5 without your progress so it IS in there, hopefully run 3 will feel better
It sounds as if you were running too fast. Have you had those symptoms before? Make sure you stretch and do strengthening exercises for your knees.
But you've succeeded up to now so don't worry about the next run. The programme has prepared you for it and you can do it.
Really well done btw.
Yep, keep the faith, keep going and think how far you've come. I faltered in Wk 7 and it really upset me but you then realise (with wise words from friends on this forum) that some days you just aren't up for it for whatever reason. I occasionally still have those days now where great plans are made but very little comes of them! But for the odd one of those days. I've had far more where it's just all been fine so don't overthink it, next outing will be fine and just keep persevering. I agree, it is disheartening but if you are thinking long term and incorporating this into your way of life then you soon realise that not every day you put your trainers on can be 'right'. That's just life, as I'm sure most of us have and will find as we continue our journeys. Well done for getting to where you are and don't forget how far you've come
It will go fine. Just stop worrying. The sessions are only short, so if you run slowly enough you should have sufficient puff to finish the job.
I know it might feel like an eternity but you know it isn't. GO STEADY and all will be well. Also set off with a smile on your face, and the assertion that this will go well. A positive frame of mind makes all the difference
Good luck and have FUN!
It happens, don't get too down about it, just write it off and do again when ready, just think of where you've come from. Your doing bloody great!π
