I have just started this programme and completed my first run today. I haven't run for about 4 years so it was an effort to say the least... The first effort was digging out my gym kit to see if anything still fitted. I have kit in all sorts of sizes but I was petrified that it would all be too small. My first attemp found a sports bra and running outfit that fit just fine... No more excuses. Out I went and yes it did hurt a little but now I feel great! I remember why I enjoyed it so much before... It's going to be tough because I carry a lot more weight now than I did then but I am determined to succeed.
My sister who hates running and 'doesn't run' graduated today and I am so proud of her... So perhaps in 9 weeks time we can run 39 mins together

A massive well done to you on making a start and to your sister for graduating. Good luck with the rest of the plan
We are similar age and I started this week too! We can do it!
A journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step. Today was your first step which is always the hardest. Well done for getting out there! Make sure you post here regularly, everyone here is super nice and always has advice or encouragement for you
Welcome and well done making a start. If you ask me, that's the hardest part. It is great your sister is a runner. She'll be there to pull you through, as we all will.
