Back on the couch for a bit..... :-(

OK - so Sunday was graduation day for me and I was on a massive high - and maybe I just went on about it a bit too much because on Monday my right inside ankle went on protest and it is really sore and has swollen up! I hobbled around at work yesterday, got home and stuck a bag of peas on it for an hour or so. It's slightly better today but looks like I'll be doing the same thing tonight! After panicking a bit and thinking that maybe running isn't right for me, I'm going to try and remain calm! When I am back to normal, I have promised myself a visit to get gait analysis done, and I guess I have gained a lot of fitness that won't suddently go away (?), and I could go back to week 5 or 6 to build up again.... I hope this is a temporary blip as I'm already missing the run I planned to go on tonight! :-(

I'm sure it is a temporary blip. As you'd graduated why not try W5r3 when your ankle is better then go straight to w6r3 if you did that ok. If that is also ok then straight to wk9r3!

Yes get gait analysis done - best thing i ever did :)

Yes I hope the gait analysis will be good. Am running in some old trainers. Not been on a treadmill before though so that will be an experience! Roll on recovery! ;-)

I suggest going to see an osteopath. He sorted my ankle out in no time. Wait for a week though. Good luck on the Ic

Think I posted in the wrong bit..... so here it is again - Thank you - will definitely wait until I'm pain free before running - and I'm getting there! Have been to the run shop to look at the place where they do the gait analysis and they were really friendly so once I'm back to normal I'll go on a visit! I have a number for an osteopath - a recommendation - so will see how things go over the next week or so!
