Hi there everyone. This is my first post on here I've just started week 4 and found the jump from week 3 to 4 quite tough. I nearly gave up on the last 5 minute run but knew I would be full of regret if I did! Has anyone else found this?

W4r1 testing times!

Hi there,
Welcome to the forum and congratulations for getting to week 4.
It is natural to find some weeks harder than others---I was new to exercise and found I had to repeat all the weeks to stop myself getting too tired and to alleviate the aches.
Take it at your own pace---take as many rest days as you need--run slowly and your body will adapt.
It sounds like you are doing ok if you managed to finish even though the last 5 minutes were tough.

Go really steady. Slow is great for this caper. It allows you time to get into the run/walks and means you have more puff to complete the job. There's no imperative to hurry up
Have fun. Enjoy yourself!

I'm on week 5. I think if you complete the week without stopping then you have done the job. It's never going to be easy as we are being pushed to run the 5k in a matter of weeks.
I cried in my last 8 minutes because I thought I wasn't going to make it but I did and you will too on your next run.
We're all in this together
Good luck

Week 4 was terrible for me. All 3 runs were just awful, I was so de-motivated by them, and I found the jump incredibly difficult as well. When the week was done I just moved on to week 5 without thinking about the difficulty of week 4, and I found week 5 so much easier! I just finished week 6 today. Go slow and hang in there. It'll get better. Good luck

Thanks for all your positive replies they really are helpful. I think I'm going to be less conscious of what speed I'm running at and concentrate on just completing the goal. On a plus note after cooling down and having a shower I now feel great! Rest day tomorrow then back on it Wednesday

I hated week 4! Seemed a massive leap. I repeated it as I couldn't manage a full 5 minutes even after the 3 runs ;( Did the 20 minute week 5 biggy last week! No shame in s l o w or repeating, whatever it takes to get through it

I found it tricky too, but I didn't stop! And then I felt great about not giving up. If I had, it would have been my first time not completing and I was determined for it not to be then. As with other weeks with a jump, I repaced myself to bring it down a level, turned the music up and trudged along. Well done for finishing!
I'm about to start week 4 and I'm really not looking forward to it - I even thought about doing a week 3 and a half - some where in between the two just to prove to myself and the gremlins that I can do it but I will trust in Laura and run forward tonight!!
Watch out for the post later.......
