I have been reading so many inspiring stories on here. However, one timely post, regarding the above run, prompted me to actually post (Thank you Ryansson).

I was dreading this run. Started C25k, very unfit and overweight. Couldn't run for 5 seconds without near death! I cannot believe today, I actually ran (slowly), for 20 minutes!

I took on board your comments Ryansson, as well as others who had completed it. Thank you so much. It was bloody hard, those last 5 minutes, but as Laura says "Just keep putting one foot in front of the other".

Thanks everyone for all your experiences on here. They have really helped me.

Roll on week 6

It's been great to see peoples progress on here. I don't usually stick anything out. But this c25k has done so much for my mental health as well as my physical health. Actually, I think it's what it's done for my mental health that has kept me going. From being a very depressed overweight person, to someone who is now off meds and has found an outlet. Definitely thanks to the people on here that I've kept going!

It's brilliant that you are getting so much from the program. You should be really proud of yourself - this run is a great achievement. Well done!

Keep it up. It's all about consolidation now. Also, if you've not been yet, try a parkrun. The atmosphere is really supportive and will help keep you running once the program has finished.

Well done, again! :)

Ah thank you. I never thought I would get as much out of it as I have done. The better mental health is a real plus and not one I expected.

There is a park run near me. I would like to do it, but wondered if it was better to wait until I could do 5k?

Thanks again.

No! Absolutely no need. :)

I thought the same, so didn't start til more than a few weeks after I graduated - and I wish I had started earlier. At my local course, we have some people that walk all the way - some super speedy that whiz around and loads who plod or run/walk. It really is a great atmosphere and really supportive. Go along and watch, if you are unsure. No-one will mind. Be warned though, they very soon become addictive. :)

WEll done!!!!!

Yes it really is as simple as that. Just keep plugging slowly away, run by run

You'll need dogged determination but you have that. You're here now and we'll get you round. Good luck. Have fun!!!!!

Thank you so much. That determination definitely helped me on the last 5 minutes! I will keep plugging away until the end of the c25k. It seems more possible now.

Thank you.
