Wk4 R1- the one I had feared!

Week 4 began today and there was significantly more running than before! I was apprehensive but got my running shoes in before my brain could talk me out of it. Started out well and then got caught in a hail shower. It didn't put me off though! The five minute runs were tougher than those I had become used to, but manageable. Laura piped up to tell me that around week 4 is when people can develop a stitch- and thirty seconds later, I did! On the last five minute run I got a rush about one minute before the end when I realised that I would finish after all. I had to resist the urge to sprint! The great feeling stayed with me all afternoon and I can't wait to get back out there. I never, ever would have thought I could feel this way about running!

Brilliant job. I finished w3 today and was wondering what w4 had in store. Sounds like a big jump so bravo you for seeing it through, despite the weather

Thanks! Yes, I did feel it during the 5 minute runs but interestingly I also felt that running for a bit longer allowed me to get into a bit of a rhythm which I couldn't find on the shorter, interrupted runs of earlier weeks. I deliberately ran slowly during the first couple of running sections as my only goal was to get to the bloody end! Good luck for your next run. You'll be grand 😄

I always try to push the last 60 seconds, but I cheat because I try to make sure the last bit of my run will be on a slight down hill slope! :)

Uh oh... I can hear it in your post... It's happened... you're getting hooked! YAY! Another crazy runner on the streets, you're going to be yelling out loud at Laura, leaping in the air celebrating and muttering to yourself like the rest of us ;) well done for completing week 4, you're doing great, go smash week 5 - you can do it! :)
