Half Term and a lovely neighbour means I was able to go for a run in the middle of the day when the sun was out and the whole thing felt great.

My legs were heavy due to 45 mins of Zumba yesterday so I will have a proper rest day tomorrow.

Run 3.48k in 25 mins, so I need to pick up some speed but it's ok, just happy to be out there doing the time and enjoying it.

Why the need for speed? Do you have a race coming up?

Yes, 10k in July. My main aim is to not be picked up by the sweeper bus that "gives runners a helping hand to the finish line" after the 2 hour mark!

I'm hoping it's plenty of time to train and the weather will only be getting better so making going out for a run in the evening easier.

if you're doing 3.48 in 25 mins you should be well under 2 hrs for 10. Speed will come gradually as you bank the miles - like interest.

Carry on running slowly, and you will find you can go on and on. You only start to tie up if you run out of steam from starting too quickly. Been taking my own advice lately and finding it much better, even able to push on a bit at the finish.

I know It's lovely having a daytime run, Catmay, hope your week 8 goes well.

Good luck :)

Thank you.

Yes, I always save a bit of breath so I can speed up when Laura tells me to. Wouldn't dare mess with her instructions :)
