C25kb450 Wk4 r1 I overtook someone!

Okay, they were walking but as I shuffled along doing my second ever 5 min run I thought I'd never reach them, let alone overtake them! Wk4 seems like such a shift up, I dread to think what lies ahead. One day/run at a time, I know. Really achey hips and knees now (could be after rowing yday, first time after 4 month gap). Reaching for the gel, and the stretches. Chuffed I managed it today :-)

Well done! Much better than being overtaken by someone walking which has been known to happen!

Going too fast is maybe why your acheing so much, and doing too much? isn't this why you've not yet completed c25k? So try slowing it down and just concentrate on the programme properly...

Hi Dave, I've only been doing c25k for 3 weeks and a day. That's why I haven't finished it ! I'm definitely going slowly and following Laura to the letter. Are you confusing me with someone else?!

Overtaking anyone is amazing, enjoy the memory! I found I had to put 100% effort when I did C25K by week 4! All other exercise went out of the window and I focussed on running plus resting! I became very good at resting, having powernaps with the electric blanket warming my legs. It got me through to graduation like that! Now I can cycle, swim and walk on rest days but you are doing so well, keep us updated! Julie

Your past post of 7 months ago also mentions acheing, just wondering if it's related to what I've mentioned, so no, don't think I've got you mixed up with someone else..

Ah, yes my first attempt, for which I didn't get past wk1r1. Yes very stiff after. That time, with hindsight, I probably went too fast and didn't stretch enough after. This time, I've been much better/slower and done more stretches after, which was largely how I think I've carried on to week 4. Dicky kneeS anyway and arthritic family so combined with out of condition body, it might explain aches. I don't know. Any other ideas?

Go you...!

I had the same issue myself... schoolboys walking faster than me running.. even downhill! Immense sense of pride when I managed to overtake one day...:)

Focus on the now.. not on the next.. you are out there, you are doing it... ( and rowing..yeay)...

You should be chuffed!
