Congratulations Cali. Got to find your new routine I think, maybe add a goal of some kind. I just graduated on Sat and I'm running 35,30,35 this week. Gradually I want to build it up to 60 min. Not sure if it is realistic but for my running anniversary a year from now I'd like to be still running 3x week and be capable of running comfortably for 60 mins and be able to cover 10k, however long it takes me. Hopefully I achieve some of that
Why, that's easy Laura's C25k+ podcasts. Downloadable free from here. They are called Stepping Stones and are great! They will take your running up a notch and move you onwards towards your next goal
Good luck, and many congratulations. It's traditional at this point to treat yourself to a non-food running treat, eg a pair of new running shoes etc. You then have to post a pic on here
Brilliant.. congratulations... !
I graduated just before Christmas.. and have been keeping to a three run per week as in the Couch to 5K. ( I like the structure).
I have been doing the Couch to 5K + podcasts.. 3 x Stepping Stone.. 3 x Speed ( last one of those, this morning) and am going to try the Stamina for my next three runs.
For me, the structure and Laura's familiar voice keep me going; but I am sure with tips from the great folk on here, you will find your route.
Meantime, bask in the moment
Wow, you sound pretty calm for someone who has achieved so much, amazing effort, well done! I graduated 16 weeks ago and started running 3 X 30 mins a week until I felt good and then did a 5k. Decided then to move up to 3 X 5k (that was about 40 minutes of running)! That felt good to me because I kept an eye on my legs, how were they on a run, how well did they recover? Just signed up for a September half marathon (whoops) and I have run 10k a few times and one 13k. I plod along ok and so far no injuries. Trust yourself but one thing that helped me most was to have a three times a week routine all along. Julie
Well done! Great achievement and the world's your lobster as they say. I'm starting out slow and steady as graduated last week so no heroics until I'm properly seasoned (!) but it's a whole new world now, enjoy it
Congratulations Cali. Very well done How about running the w9 podcast for a couple of weeks to consolidate your progress, before introducing some intervals or hill work. Just be careful not to try too much too soon. Lots of us pick up injuries after graduating because we get a bit too ambitious early on. Gotta let the muscles catch up with enthusiasm!! Good luck -the fun starts now!
Congratulations
