With the sound of my breathing
We decided to do hill runs today. So went up and down and up and down and up and down many hills.
Hopefully running on flat ground should get easier after this. Or at least, that is the hope

Well done Ash , tough aren't they ? Its good though isn't it to mix it up a bit .
Im doing these at the moment too . Flippin' hard work but I do enjoy them in a sort of warped and twisted way
All stamina and muscle building,so its all good
The only way is up , Baby ! xxx
Well done! Yes, it makes a change from the flat, OK it's obviously tougher, but will build stamina, I could do with a tad more power in the pins, but am getting there slowly..
Thanks Dave.
I am sure there is plenty of power in your pins.
Don't feel like it sometimes Ash, just have to keep pushing...
Please accept my respect Dave. I did my first ParkRun today and it was hard. Definitely not a walk in the park.
Yes, need to keep pushing. Need to push harder.
No, a run in the park Ash! lol
You have a few wee hills on that Parkrun then Ash? Tough arent they! Which Parkrun is that? My nephew lives in Troon.
Then if it's muddy as well it makes it even more tough with the heavy going, what with trail shoes on collecting all that mud. But Parkruns a nice atmosphere with all the other runners, even if it does bunchup a tad at the start...
Having lived and worked in Glasgow, Ash, I pity you running those hills - they are a nightmare !! Well done
It sure will! You only have to run hills for a few sessions before you start feeling the benefit. I've been running more uphills than before as my physio says it's easier on the calves
We will have to compare notes, Ash.
Just think, in a couple of months we will be a pair of proper racing snakes, smashing PBs left, right and centre xxx
Poppy, what I haven't told many people yet is that I have entered a competition to win a place in London Marathon.
That I am mad - everyone knows.
The hill sprints (if you can call them sprints) are all part of my training.
Part of me is dreading getting through. And other part is wishing that I did.
In the meantime, I am enjoying the runs as much as I can xxx
Oh Ash that is fantastic !
What an amazing experience that will be ! I can understand totally what you mean though,it is a scary prospect - 26 miles , but you don't have to run it all do you ?
Okay I wont tell anyone promise, my lips are sealed - Sssssh xxx
I am sure you can , Ash !
Good Luck , I really hope you get in ! xxx
All my c25k was up and down hills. I have no choice here because I live on a hill. I didn't realise how difficult it was until I went on holiday by the sea in October. Running on a flat surface was so easy compared to what I had been doing before. Hill running is excellent for stamina. Enjoy the icy rain. Hope you win your place in the LM
Bless you! Hills are quite a challenge but it gets easier .
