I am living in an area where there is no flat roads . Sometimes especially at the end of the run when I am tired and I know that the big up the hill road is in front of me I feel like giving up. I tried slowing down but I already run quiet slow , any tips what to do ?

I'd go out a bit further so that on the way back you finish before the worst of the hill.

I totally feel your pain, I've moaned loads on here about living in a village with no flat lol I try to plan my route so that its equal amounts up and down and get the toughest uphill done early and always try ending on down or flat, there is nothing more defeating that knowing you have an uphill at the end of a run....i also try and mix up my route because I started to dread certain parts of the run and it was getting the better of me. Good luck 😊

Difficult to say without knowing how steep and long the hill is, but GTFC ‘s idea seems good. For really steep hills I shorten stride and pick up my knees higher, not quite running on the spot but almost. Sometimes you need to try to run a bit further up a steep hill on successive runs so that you build up to it gradually. You will get there, and it is fantastic training for the rest of your running.

That is tough. I only have one hill but as the programme has progressed and I’ve had to start running up it has become a bit of a nemesis. On my worst day when I really thought I couldn’t do it I just ran to the bottom of the hill and turned round and ran back on myself until I completed the run then turned again and walked home. Some days it’s enough to just get it done. Good luck x

I live at the top of a hill and I am not ready to run up it so I plan my runs so they finish at the bottom the hill. I’m always dragging my husband out to walk and map a route! I count the walk back (12 mins) as my cool down.walk.
