Fancied an off road run along the river bank today. Lovely soft grass under my feet but also a lot of slippery, sloshy mud and wet puddles. Nearly slipped over a couple of times and stinging nettles managed to sting my legs but it was well worth it!
Returned home rather caked in the brown stuff. My Mum would have told me off for getting in such a state but I am 52 so I do what I want and if it is fun, I want to do it LOL! A quick shower and my trainers had a wipe down - they can dry ready for the next adventure. Anyone else doing things their Mum would not approve off (keep it clean and running related)!! 😉 Julie

Ha ha! Running medals! Love it, yes, I am 52 too, and love a splash through a puddle, I've even face planted the mud before now and got covered - (see previous post from last year in my profile) in fact looking forward to park run tomorrow where I know it's muddy and it will be raining, yee haa!
Sounds like you had a great time I'm a sucker for jumping in leaves, it drives my kids nuts. As for doing things my mum wouldn't approve of.. it's the other way round with us, I'm always telling her off
My mum would just have been astonished and proud in equal measure. I was never sporty (apart from swimming)- she was an exceptionally fine hockey player and tennis player... And totally believed in having fun and puddle splashing 😀
Miss her so much even after seven years... She really was wonderful
