It could be because you were running too quick and maybe you are feeling the effects of the twisting action of your midsection. Your middle gets jiggled quite a bit when you run, which is why it loses weight so successfully
It'll sort itself out, don't worry. Just go nice and steady. Your breathing will be easier if you are going slowly enough. You'll have enough puff to finish the session

I agree with MW - I couldn't believe how much my stomach and bottom toned up just from the running. It does take time but then all of a sudden you realise the impact. By then you might have really got the bug and be doing core training too. It sounds crazy now but that's where we all started. Take it steady and slow and you'll go from strength to strength.
