After completing W5R3, never thought I would be able to run 20 minutes with no stops..... but then W6R2 I really struggled to do the 10 minutes x 2!! How does that work? Anybody else had the same?

I think most perople are surprised to find that after the elation of doing the 20 minutes non-stop surprisingly easily, the intervals in week 6 are hard. Don't really know why, other than perhaps the walk breaks the rhythm up. You're doing well, though, and you've done the hardest bits now.

Thank you! Have to admit I will be glad when I complete tomorrow's final run in week 6 though!

This is perhaps the most common week for people to come here and say that they are disappointed!

I think the 20-mins straight is a big high and it feels like you can run forever. Then you maybe take the 2 x 10min a little too fast or you're still recovering from your first ever long run and W6 really hurts.

Your are doing great - and I'm sure you'll cope fine for W6R3. After that it's all non-stop runs so you'll not have to keep stopping and starting again!

Keep it up!

I really enjoyed week 6 but I have heard it catches a few people out. However, from week 7 onwards I am finding the going a lot tougher... no breaks - just constant running. I know it is what we're all aiming for but I am just finding it harder and harder :-(

I've just come back from w6r3, and after feeling the same as you after previous runs, was a bit nervous! But it all went well and I did it, feeling good (which I certainly didn't feel last run). Everyone keeps saying trust in Laura, and I guess they're right!

Yep, I had exactly the same problem this week with that! I had to retry it yesterday and just about managed it on my 2nd attempt. As I said in my own post about it, I think the problem was my pace. My mind was telling me that I had done 20 mins non stop the week before so 10 mins must be easy so I unconsciously tried to go faster. As soon as I slowed it back down it was much easier. Slow and steady for me at least, I'll work on speed much later!

You're certainly not alone, have another go!

Not what you're looking for?
