Graduated a couple of weeks ago and went on holiday. One small run while away. Back this week a bit anxious but managed 26mins on Tuesday. Went tonight and did 5K in 37mins. So pleased although I can still say I don't 100% enjoy it. Very proud 59 year old πππ

Hi , i graduated about 6 weeks ago and definitely not enjoying running in the cold dark nights BUT i think back to where i was and it motivates me to keep going ! your time of 37 minutes is very good, very well done !
Well done sue buzz! I agree, I don't 100% enjoy running either; I did enjoy my last outing to 'stepping stones' but not 100%, and normally it's the same as banging your head against a brick wall- worth it for the feeling when you stop! Enjoy your rest day or days and feel proud - it's amazing what a 50 something body can cope with, isn't it!!!
I don't really enjoy it either; maybe because my 50 year old dodgy knee is still not co-operating. Second run post graduation last night and I'm back to hobbling around this morning
Keep going, nice and steady. As you progress the runs will become more comfortable and you can settle into them and relax a bit, so hopefully they will become more enjoyable
You know if you are running regularly your health will benefit and you will see yourself get slimmer and more toned. It's well worth it!
Strange thing about running, it is a type of torture with hidden satisfaction built in! I graduated and am just doing 3 X 30 min runs for now and will slowly increase run time in a few weeks. Great time for 5K
Graduated a few weeks ago too! I run for around 40 minutes four times a week and I still can't say I enjoy it whilst I'm doing it. It's the sense of satisfaction after I've done it that I enjoy. Plus I read somewhere it never really gets easier you just get stronger. Keep up the great running, you're doing really well
