Completed my first 5k race

Just felt I needed to post to say say a big thank you to the amazing couch to 5k pod casts. I satarted in Janurary as someone who was three stone over weight and had just stopped smoking 2 months ago after smoking for over 16 years.

The first week of runs almost killed me while runing for 60 seconds I was just wishing it to end so I could walk again. but now 11 weeks later I have now lost 1 stone 7lb and just completed yesterday the Llandudno 5k easter run, my only goal for the run was to run none stop and not finish last. I actual ran it in it none stop in 25 mins 17 secs and came 72 out of 160 runners, the feeling of crossing the line was amazing.

So I just wanted to say to anyone just starting you can do it, there where times I felt I would not be able to do the runs when laura said I would be running for 10 mins and then 20 mins none stop I thought there was no way I can could do that, but now looking back at that I can now run 20 mins no problem and I am feeling so much better and feel so much more Healthy.

Good luck to everyone following this course, keep it uyp and you will be amazed with yourself what you can do.

Dave.
