Having read Goonkeepgoing's post, I was wondering who has tried this and did you find it motivating?

I did my first one last week. I did find it motivating as it pushed me to do a run I was proud enough of to submit publicly!!

I've also signed up for the October 10k & the Poppy challenge, all of which give that added reason to keep on running! 😆

I didn't enjoy the atmosphere or the company.

I bet you had to set up your own obstacles too so it ruined the surprise!

signed up for the poppy run. supposed to be 30k+, but I want to do quite a bit more than that.

Ooh yes ! Very motivating. I try to do one a month but in addition to my normal 3 runs a week to make it worth striving for. I've got the October sprint triathlon and the poppy run to look forward to.

Triathlon? Impressive.

Yes, I'd never be brave enough to do a public one ! I did a VR one on the hottest day of the year so hoping for a pb in October.

I did one with other C25K people, we all did 10K at as close to the same time/date as possible. I found it quite emotional to think of us all running at the same time in our various locations. There was a medal if you wanted but you had to order it yourself. One chap had it engraved which I thought was nice.
