A potential runner has borrowed my body!

This morning I did W5R1 - when I started I honestly didn't believe I would get past week 2 as I didn't believe my knees would stand it - but they have been no bother and it all seems easier and more fun than I ever expected.

When I am out and say hello to the dog walkers I feel a fraud though - just like when I started teaching late in my career and kept wondering whether anyone had noticed I wasn't a real teacher! Now I feel like an imposter because I can't be a real runner!

I'm sure someone else is doing the running for me, and I will wake up tomorrow to find myself completely incapable of running!

Sounds like a healthy dose of imposter syndrome. You got this- you deserve to be healthy, active and fit! Well done for doing the hard work

Haha! I know what you mean - I feel like that a lot. But then will spot someone who looks like they might be doing Ct5k themselves, or running about my pace - and I feel heartened that it isn’t just me, I am not alone and we don’t all have to be the next Mo Farrah or Paula Ratcliffe!

Haha I love that! You’re doing brilliantly! It just shows how amazing this programme is and how e can all do far more than we ever think we can! Keep up the great work

They see a runner - just need to retrain your brain to “see” yourself as one as well! Which you ARE as you’ve gotten this far. And I have no doubt you will complete the program and then be revving for more after that! Best wishes.

Thank you all for your encouragement! I WILL become a 'real' runner, I promise!

It’s great isn’t it, when you finally start to realise that you are very capable of doing this 🙂
