What speed?

Hello, I have still to do the 3rd run of week 4 and was wondering what speed my run should be? Old dreadmill on miles so walking at 3.1 miles and jogging at 3.6. Is that too slow? I think 3.1 is 4.988 km

Stop looking at speeds. If it's comfortable, it's not too slow. If it hurts and you are struggling, it's too fast. Slow is good. The aim of the course is to get you running for 30 minutes. Speed is irrelevant. Once you've reached the end of week 9 and you can run for 30 minutes you can start to think about what your speed is and if you want to build it up. Until that time, ignore your speed (unless it's too fast). ;)

When I did 0 to 5k a few years ago it was on the road and I picked up a few injuries. I need to get back into exercise and thought it may be easier for me at the moment to use the treadmill at home. Will go out with my daughter soon though. Thanks Ridingstar. Like your horse. I have a Highland.

Mines a Welsh D ! :)

I am with Adam , really don't worry about your speed or pace ..... the key to all the runs is being comfortable and running at a pace so you can complete each timed run . if you are struggling slow down ,even if it feels like you could walk quicker :)

Hello Rob thanks for replying. I think I may be worried and conserving too much energy so will try and go a bit faster and see what happens 😉
