Week 3 Run 1

So I hit week three with my first run tonight. I haven't listened to the podcast as I didn't want to scare myself with what is involved!! I'm still running indoors on my treadmill due to the time constraints of being able to get to the park and back before the household goes mad (I do find I have a little stroll on the thing whilst watching the TV in the evening so a bonus I guess). I do intend to try and carry out my weekend run outdoors just to mix it up a bit and get myself a change of scenery.

Well done for getting this far! You are clearly doing well. Don't be surprised if you find running outside tricky to begin with. It is very different from running on a treadmill so slow things right down and give yourself time to adapt. Stick with it, though. It's well worth it!

Yes I have done both over the first couple of weeks its definitely more difficult outside especially as I don't have that ability yet to control the speed I run at so end up getting tired quicker. Its easier on the treadmill as you set your pace and away you go, but that's definitely a good reason to mix it up. I just don't get enough time to squish it in during the week any other way. Thanks for your encouragement I'm definitely a little bit hooked...! Which surprises me massively he he he he :-0

That is great. Treadmills are so convenient and no matter what the weather, no excuse is there? I started running outside on week 2 and found the uneven ground surprisingly challenging but just paced myself and now always run outside. No one has noticed me really so I feel confident to run in the park, round my local area or anywhere now. Good idea to try it, well done for getting so far, sounds like a busy house! Julie

Oh yeah get outside with your running and leave the manic household to it

Find time for your sessions. It's about you so make time for it. You can get to the park. It's not far. Leave the telly. It will still be there when you get back

Running outside is just easier and the session will go so much faster. Honest.
