Another happy Park Run with another PB

My fifth Park Run and a fifth PB 28:11 a full 31 seconds better than my previous PB which I find incredible. Today I was cheered on by my 6 year old grandson who we have been looking after this week. Someone once wrote on this forum that taking part in Park Runs would improve your times was correct but the improvements I have had are beyond my wildest dreams. Then came home and watched Mo Farah win the 5k in the world athletics he could run 10k and I could run 5k and he would still be first over the line.

Many congrats on your pb!! That is a fantastic time!!

Thanks Vixchile I can't believe it myself but the park run time matched my Garmin time by 1 second so it must be true and not a dream

Well done brilliant time Park Runs are such fun !!

Thanks RS I agree they are great fun, I see them as me competing with myself not others. The other runners spur me on and act as my pace setters.

well done , another great time :)

That's exactly what I said about Mo! Incredible sports man and he even stopped for a brew! No biscuit though - perhaps that's the secret!

I'm doing a 5k tomorrow for charity ( so not a park run essentially but similar setup - very low key affair) so am looking forward to improving my 30 mins 4 km into a decentish time for the 5km.

Well done on your achievements - are you going to stick to improving your 5km or go for a longer distance now?

in reply to RibbleLady

I would love to keep improving my times but I think I may have peeked as yesterday's time was about 1 minute 17 secs faster than my non park run times.

I do run longer distances during the week most runs are 6/7k and I try to run 10k plus at least once a month 12k is my longest run to date.

I enjoy running which is the main thing and park runs I see as competing with myself with those around me as pace setters. Good luck on your 5k charity run today.

Well done!! I ran my 2nd park run yesterday and managed to knock 42 seconds off my pb - 34:31. I'm well chuffed with that as I tried a different park and it was a lot harder than the 1st (lots of steep bits!!). I'm new to park runs and I love them. Incredible atmosphere and support. I'll keep chipping away at my times and maybe catch you up one day!! ;)

Good time beetie, well done I am sure the feeling of running with others will help you improve on your times. I totally agree with you the atmosphere, support and friendship at park runs is truly amazing .
