and thanks to everyone's advice ( I really did imagine I was dancing in a straight line - thanks for that one)
it was fine !!my knee aches a bit but hopefully that will settle down.
I hope sloughmotion and the other person that messaged me managed to do it too.
For the first time I dusted down my I pod and listened to music whilst running 40 licks rolling stones. what a revelation it really helped the pace. Im not sure about the 19th nervous breakdown track as I entered the final 5 minutes up a slight incline - guess it was kind of appropriate.
walked home to sympathy with the devil - big whoo whoo

Wow, week 5, day 3 - a real achievement and well done, you overcame all the negative thoughts and used your music to your advantage! Have a good old rest now, week 6 awaits! I've just done week 6 run 2 - 2 x 10 minutes, not too bad, just nice and steady! On Friday, I have 25 minutes but if we can do week 5,day 3, we can do that too.
The legs are bound to ache a little but sure a little rest will sort them out!
Well done on achieving W5R3. That must have brought you a great deal of Satisfaction.
Watch out for W6R1 - it almost always catches people out despite being theoretically easier than W5R3.
On a slight tangent, I never quite understood that 'Moves like Jagger' song, which my children all sing whenever it is on the radio, in a variety of unrelated keys. I do, indeed somtimes have moves like Jagger - usually the morning after a very long run when my muscles do not allow more than creaky geriatric stumbling, but I can't see it something to brag about.
That track was on too.... !!! might do a bit of queen for week 6 or move forward a few eons ..all I could think of was running is dancing in a straight line !!! It helped !!
Well done. Now you already know the rest of this is possible. All you need to do is keep finding ways of moving forward (and of staying active where you don't - not that that looks like it's going to be a problem from now on).
Thank you and yep....I'm thinking its all possible now. I don't think I would have found it half as easy without the advice and conviction vibes from fellow C25K-ers. Really helped as so much of it is in the mind.
Didn't even go for the downhill finish and must admit felt I could have done even a bit more but thought quit whilst you're ahead.
