Finished my first week 8 run half an hour ago and my face still looks like a blackcurrant! I ran 3.38km in 28 minutes... I know that's really slow but I did finish. Achieved a pb over 2 miles- lol I've never run 2 miles before!! Not hugely looking forward to run 2 but know I can do it.
Week 8 urghhh!: Finished my first week 8 run... - Couch to 5K
Week 8 urghhh!
Great Phil, well done you. I have noticed my cheeks have got considerably rosier as the programme has progressed 2 miles huh? To think that would have been impossible 8 weeks ago, it's great isn't it.
Good luck with the rest of w8. I'm on w7 r3 tonight.
Well done !
I'm a slow runner too, but improving very slowly !!! I am also cursed with the bright red face during and after a run, I now just think of it as good for my skin, all the blood pumping through it !!
I currently get about 3.7k for 30 mins of running, which has improved from about 3.4k for 30 mins of running. Maybe one day I'll get closer to 5k.
I'm still not that sure if I like running, but I get a buzz from the sense of achievement.
That's really encouraging thanks. I can cope with slow improvement as long as there is improvement!
Well done! I am also a red faced (make that puce) runner, & often very unattractively literally dripping with sweat. Takes me ages to cool down &!get face back to a normal colour! Lol
Don't be worrying about your pace right now, you can worry about it after you graduate.
I'll never be hugely fast but I'm blaming it on just having short legs. 😆😆😆
Yep puce- that's definitely the colour! I'm just pleased to make it to the end. I do wonder how I'll ever get faster though. I think it's my mind that holds me back!
I'm FULL of good intentions before a run, "I'll push hard today" ... "run a fast last 10 minutes" ... bla bla ... When I'm on the run, it's like "OMG just survive, just keep going, if I make it to the end I'll be happy, who cares about pace" ...
Interestingly, I'm currently doing C25K again at the moment, with my 9 year old. So I'm doing my runs and her runs. I was amazed at how easy I found week 1 run 1, really made me realise how much my running has improved, bit of an eye opener !
