Week 4.1 - scaled Everest

The run was ok, but I was a bit proud to see that my distance run had gone from around 2.5 miles to over 4.5 - especially as I had just extended my usual turnaround point by a couple of hundred yards 🧐

The devil is in the detail. Turns out my Garmin thought I had started at an elevation of 11,562 ft and finished at 362 ft.

So I probably did 2.7 miles horizontally, and Garmin had added a further 2 miles vertical drop! No wonder it felt ok!

Garmin must have thought that you were on holiday somewhere in the Swiss Alps as 11,562 ft is where a lot of ski resorts are in Switzerland.

So GPS, you're including high altitude training with C25K now then are you? Despite the misleading Garmin, well done for cracking the start of W4. This run so far has been my nemesis, but if my next 2 W3 runs go OK I'll be having another crack at it next Saturday. (I just hope I can get flights to & from Switzerland so I can do it your way!)

Actually, I'm missing out on my regular skiing trip I usually have this time of year. Maybe my watch is registering a protest at not being in Switzerland for real!
