Hi guys,
After trying many different things most of which didn't work due to my own laziness, I have finally decided to give C25K a go.
Day 1 done - on treadmill.
When do I do day 2? Tomorrow? or day-after-tomorrow?
Cheers,
Ash.

Give yourself a days break, so your body can repair itself and adjust to the shock.
Start to think about one day finding a way of doing this outdoors one day (at 4 am if you're shy). Don't think so much about it that you lose heart, though. Better to settle for a treadmill than not to run at all. (And I suppose in Winter a lot of you will be settling for treadmills? Or will some just stick that jaw into the wind, and growl their way through it?)
Thanks Gary.
I am definitely not shy. However, in order to wake up at 4 AM, I will need to go to bed by 8:00 PM
I am sure gradually I will get there.
I will try some running outdoors too.
Definitely rest in between run days, that's essential! I started on the treadmill too but by week 2 I thought I would go to the local park. Although the ground may b a little uneven, it is more interesting and u can adjust your speed without touching a button. I have enjoyed it as I can try different locations and no one even notices me, there are lots of people keeping fit, so it is not even seen by most people (except those who think "good for u" or "I wish I could run"!)
Keep it up and let us know how day 2 and 3 go, hopefully by the end of the week it will b easy!
I am 51 and on week 5 now, so if I can, u can!!
Well done! And definitely take a rest day before your next run, that's very important. Good luck with the plan!
Thanks all!
good luck with your c25k journey as a new outdoor runner i would highly recommend it enjoy
Well done Ash!
This programme can work for anyone, but laziness and motivation are in your hands, so you have to want to do it. I started, aged 57, in the hope of staving off the seemingly inevitable decline in my stamina, not expecting to enjoy it but feeling it was a necessity. Needless to say, I loved it and within 5 months of starting C25k, I ran 10 miles non stop for the first time in my life. Two years later, I now do three runs a week, am 35 years of age and have never felt better.
It works. Do it!!!
