Not the best prep for week 6

Having another crack at week 6 this week after a bit of a poor 10 days or so. Away in the heat meant that at 33degrees by 9am anything other than a gentle stroll was impossible. No treadmill, no gym! Then back late Friday and and OK(ish) park run yesterday all things considered but followed by a Chinese. Then today a huge family BBQ that started at around noon and has only just finished during which I have cooked about 5 different sessions! and drunk continually all day. Champagne to kick the day off followed by an assortment of Lager, Cider, Ale, wine and the occasional scotch thrown in for good measure. Oh and we had a considerable helping of Port with a large plate of cheese early evening!

I don't know why but I think my W6R1 right be a tad harder than maybe it should be. Stay tuned for a rather sad update some time tomorrow.

Oh CC! Your poor body won't know what's hit it when you require it to "exercise" tomorrow! Well done for getting to Parkrun yesterday though - I sense a steely determination lurking away under there, no use trying to drown it out with alcohol!

Good luck!

Plenty of water beforehand and I am sure you will come through.

Oh well, these weekends are part of life, so don't beat yourself up about it (unless you make a habit of them :-) ). Cut yourself some slack for the run and just see how it goes. If it doesn't work out well, then give yourself another couple of days to recover and I am sure you will be fine! We're not giving up on you anyway!

Sounds like a healthy blend of complex carbohydrates and proteins to me. And wine is a fruit.

Take care in the heat, 33 is too hot for running! If you must go, make sure you're hydrated, and carry a wet flannel. xx

Alcohol and heat... not a good combination for running the next day :) Hope you enjoyed yourself - now back to business, CC. Now off you go to hunt down the gremlins and tape their gobs shut - they may have been breeding overnight.
