So after what feels like flipping ages on the IC (I injured my hip) I feel like I am ready to get back out there (Although I am kinda scared - what if I can't do it any more?!).
I'm thinking of a trying a gentle 20 mins tonight to see how I get on. Fingers crossed no -hip pain.
Do you think this is too ambitious? My last run was in April and I covered 4.75 miles.
I really would appreciate any feedback/ advice.
Thanks

Great to see you back, Sarah. I think you've got it about right. A slow jog around, no pressure, just get used to the feeling of running again. Good luck!
I went on a gentle bike ride last night, only about 6 miles and feeling fine today, so I am optimist, but appreciate that cycling is low impact compared to pounding the pavements
I suspect you'll be surprised, Sarah. In your head, you know you're a runner now. Your fitness may have decreased a little, but it will soon come back.
You will probably notice any discomfort or pain as you're running so just ease off to a walk. But if you feel good keep going for 20 and look after yourself when you finish in the way you normally would (bath, stretches, etc).
