I completed W4R1 this morning! I don't think I have ever run for 5 minutes without stopping in my whole life and I did today, twice! Bring on run 2!

Excellent! I like that attitude, too. Even those of us who've been forced to run for several minutes at a time when young find having to run that first five minutes now a challenge.

Its a great feeling isn't it! Just wait till you get to 20 mins, and you will - good luck with the next ones but don't worry if you have to repeat any, we all go at our own pace. When I think of the huffing and puffing I did when I started and now I've graduated I still cant quite believe it.

Thanks for the encouragement! 20 minutes seems a long way off but if I manage to stay with the program then it's only the end of next week I think! I have set myself a challenge that once I can do 20-25mins then I will do a parkrun!

Good luck with that - I have today signed up for park run myself!

Thanks. Well done to you as well! I can't say I enjoyed it but there was such a massive sense of achievement that I am keen to get out again tomorrow to see if I can replicate it. Keep me updated on how you are getting on!
