Well, what could be better on a Saturday morning than a brutal obstacle course race with 1103' of vertical gain through a forest in the Brecon Beacons with fire pits, spear throws, rope climbs and all the usual jollity, in steamng humidity and heat?
.... having a bottle of water and a non-paleo rice pudding and then doing the same thing again over three times the distance, carrying a 25kg sandbag for 4k of it, including under barbed wire crawls, over 12ft walls etc.
Kids also crushed their races, and Beatrix mentored a little boy round the 4-7 yr old course (still 1.7k with A-frames climbs etc) and Mrs R marshaled on the kids races, earning me another free race entry.
Will post a full race dissection and pics if anyone interested, but in the meanwhile, here's the improtant bit: the bling! Two medals and 2/3rds of my trifecta medal - will get the third bit in October when I do the Spartan Beast race.

Rig, you are awesome! A total running freak that us mere mortals can only gawp at ! Admiration to you in spades, but I can't see myself joining you any time soon! I'll keep my comfy (and that's hard enough) park run!
Crazy, but i kind see the appeal! except the bit carrying heavy weights for 4 k that is totally not my kind of thing!!! your are one hardcore obstacle racing kind of guy! love the bling!
