I graduated about 2 months ago and had't really decided what I was going to do next. Do I really want to continue running? Do I try for something a bit more competitive? Do I take a bit of a break? I had a bit of discomfort in my knee and was missing my Sunday Morning lie-ins, so decided to take a break for 2 weeks as a bit of a treat.

5 weeks later I realised how quickly I'd fallen out of my good habits and how I was enjoying my sedentary lifestyle. A quick kick up the whats-it was called for so I enrolled in the York 'R U Taking The P' 5k race (a Men's only race in aid of Prostate Cancer) held on Fathers Day, and I had 3 weeks to get my act together - There's nothing like a bit of focus to get you motivated!

I've just completed my last training run and clocked up a new PB, and I've exceeded my fund raising target so I'm good to go! The only thing I'm a little apprehensive about is the ban on headphones - Laura, and my motivating music has been a great source of inspiration over the last few months when I've been running alone. It will be interesting to see how running with others works out...

Well done sounds like you are ready. You could always see if they will allow you to wear one headphone

I'm sure the atmosphere and running with the 'pack' will spur you on! Danger will be starting off like a rocket and then running out of steam. Good luck!
