Ok, so I didn't manage to run the whole thing, but that hasn't looked likely in a few weeks! But I went into it thinking a finishing time of around 1hr 20 was likely, maybe 1hr 15 if I was really lucky. So I'm delighted with 1hr 16.10! I ran the first 6km, took a short walking break, ran the next 1.75-ish, struggled to keep going, so walked a bit of the next km, and finally just after passing the. 9km marker, remember do that I'm stubborn and I wasn't about to give in! From there I even managed what passes for a sprint finish for me over the last 100m, and passed the person in front of me!
It was very warm and sunny this morning, so between the early start and the temperature it was a bit challenging but a great atmosphere, lots of support and encouragement from marshals and others. Despite running around a zoo, I didn't see many animals en route (other than the wallaby/kangaroo which ran across the road about 0.5km in!), but at least looking out for them added a bit of interest...
All in all, a great day, and I'm happy to call this my first 10k. Not rushing to sign up for the next, but it'll happen one day.

Thanks all! I love the medal - going to have to find somewhere good (i.e. Prominent) to put it!
Have spent the afternoon since I got home collapsed on the sofa - in my defence, I'd gone with a friend and we spent about 3 1/2 hours walking around the zoo after we'd finished running! Not quite the best way of looking after our tired little legs...!
