Had a gorgeous run in the sunshine through the Belgian countryside today. Here for a week's celebration of my big 4-0. After a few days of Belgian beer, chocs, frites, waffles, etc I really felt the need for a run!
What a treat to enjoy some different scenery, & it wasn't dogs I had to look out for here but cyclists & motorcycles (the latter come out of nowhere & are allowed to use the cycle path so catch one very unawares!). Got very hot as there was no shade but my new watch (R2D2) helped me along to that little bit further again within 30 mins. Feel very virtuous having exercised on hols, now off to cram more yummy food & drink in, hurrah!

Oooh lucky you. Frites and spit roast chicken with mayo is yummy over there. Waffles too. Oh and the mussels. You'll need to get some runs in to shift any extra calories consumed, natch!
Oh it's all so yummy isn't it miss wobble, at least the mussels are fairly pure protein hope to get at least one more run in, we're off walking en famille today so that should help a bit too x
It is all rather perfect I have to say, has rather taken the emphasis away from worrying about getting old & reflecting too much on where I am in life, which was kind of the idea xxx
It does sound like THE perfect trip and well done for not only taking your running kit on holiday, but for using it too!
How all our lives have changed. The size of my holiday bag used to be dominated by how many pairs of stilettos I could fit in there, now its dictated by ability to hold trainers.
Do remember only to eat mussels in months that have the letter 'r' in them. As in January, February, March, April, Ray, Rune, Ruly....
Sounds absolutely lovely. I envy you the great food, and the run seems to be out of this world as well. Do you find it easier or harder to run upside down? I must try it one of these days...
