Give yourself a couple of days and see if it gets okay. You're so close, and you WILL get there :)

Nice hot baths and leg rubs and hopefully you'll be fighting fit in no time! Maybe use it as an excuse to cross train? Maybe also make an effort to stay really hydrated and make sure you're getting enough sodium/potassium so you don't end up cramping the minute you get going again. I hope you get better soon!

Hi there,

I am in the same boat---on the final run of week 8 I lightly pulled a hamstring.

Its not too bad---I can walk ok but I know it will get a lot worse if I run again.

I have decided to take a couple of weeks off and in the meantime I am doing a fair bit of walking and also some strength training (avoiding hurting my leg).

It is frustrating because I seemed to be doing ok. Never mind :)

Hope you will be on the mend soon. The couch to 5k will wait for us.

Nooooo! Just a minor delay, I hope.

All the best.

What a nuisance! I feel with you, I recently lost 3 weeks due to calf pain and a virus. The good news is: you are so far advanced now that you won't lose the ability to complete week 9. I will keep that virtual champagne in the fridge for your graduation day!

Doh!!! Exact thing scuppered. My week 9 - calf pull while walking the underground :( it will get better - Ice / rest / foam roller or general rubbing and massage. Make sure it's right before you go again....oh....and patience :) I've learnt this is how running is - stuff happens and we have to be more careful as we get older too. Do you do post run stretching? If not, add that once you're back in your trainers :) :) good luck!

Take a rest till it feels better and then carry on where you left off. You'll be fine.

Its a real nuisance isn't it? Happened to me just a couple of weeks back. Sometimes you can do all the warming up in the world and it can still happen. Rest up and it will soon pass.
