NHS Couch25K program finished!

I ran for 30 minutes, then carried on until I completed my first all-run 5K in under 40 minutes! If I can do it, 58, dodgy knee, diabetic, overweight - YOU can do it!!

Now, where do I get my badge?

What is your next goal?

I'm going to continue running 5K once a week, and work on swimming and cross-training the other two days.

Massive congratulations! Feels great to finish that program doesn't it? It's amazing to reflect back on those first few runs and remember where we came from.

It's my second go - I failed on week 9 run 2 with a bad knee last year, so this is all the sweeter.

Well done Derek. Bet that smile is still on your face! Congratulations on getting up to the 5k too, hows about doing a parkrun?

drummerderek profile image
drummerderekGraduate in reply toold_git

I'm going to do a few more 5Ks before tackling parkrun. The seafront is flat, you see, but Brighton parkrun ain't! Thanks for the congrats, I'll let you know when I tackle it!

I can remember watching an old Western and some old cow poke speaking to a greenhorn said of Indian drums, "when yer hear them drums, we got trouble!"

I'll never forget that old filum, so now, on a run, when I hear drums on my mp3 player, I get ready to rumble
