Stepping stones

Well hello fellow runners. Haven't run for a week just have not felt like it. Anyway thought I would try stepping stones. Didn't like it I'm afraid. Could not get into my natural stride until 160 bpm and that was the last 5 minutes. Didn't cover nearly as much distance as in wk9 runs. But at least I now know what beats to find running music.

Haha Maturelady, this is almost a carbon copy of my post after I tried the Stepping Stones podcast. I hated it and found it was a lot of effort to go slower and cover less ground than I normally do. I only found my rhythm right at the end at the 160 bpm point.

Other people have had great success with it but I never went back to it. Horses for courses :)

I totally agree it was so difficult to go a slow beat. Might try one of the other ones.

I find Happy is the right track for me but then I am v slow!

Don't put yourself down as Happy is 160 bpm track so it is not that slow.

I haven't tried it, and don't think I will bother. I had a sneaky listen to the podcast while making cheesecake the other day, to sound it out. When the 'music' came on I had a trot around the kitchen table to evaluate speed in my pinny - I felt like I was going to my own funeral.

I am going to try the other two podcasts to see what they are like. So watch this space.

Ooh, great, our very own 'tried and tested' panel. Can't wait!

Funnily enough I was contemplating having a go at one of those podcasts since I never have. Maybe I won't bother after hearing this :D

It totally depends on how fast you run but I just found it so hard to go that slow. Like I said to mfamilias I will try the other two to see what they are like. So I will let you all know.

I thought I ran slowly until I tried that podcast :-) Maybe the whole point of it is controlling your pace, as I imagine it's way more difficult than running at your "comfy" speed.

If you find 160bpm comfortable you may enjoy the stamina podcast. That is 10 mins at 158, 20 mins at 160, and 5 mins at 165. I'm trying to do it once a week at the moment in order to improve my running.

I have tried all the three podcasts and I’m enjoying them except stamina I found it a bit odd and you have to run for 35 minutes. Speed is my favorites with running intervals it so great. I don’t bother much about the bpm thing, I use it to train myself with different running style and like the tips and someone talking with you while you exercise. It is also great as you do different things within the same run. It is just something different from c25k.

I have down loaded both so will see what I like tomorrow night. Looking forward to trying them out. Decisions decisions which to try first.

If you would like to try something different then may be you might want to go for SPEED total running time is about 17 minutes. All the best
