Help!im on w8r2 and I can't find the go in me to do the third! I know exercise boosts energy levels but I feel too tired to go out and it's making me behind in the programme.i don't know if this is me subconsciously telling myself I want to quit or if it's just a bad day.is what I'm feeling normal? 😐
Motivate me!: Help!im on w8r2 and I can't find... - Couch to 5K
Motivate me!
Come on Zoe ! There's plenty of daylight left and I PROMISE you'll feel SO much better if you go.
Zoe! Go now! Wanted to sleep last night instead of run, was exhausted and feeling weak. 3 mins in Inwas energised, mood lifted, feeling fantastic! Do it! Do it now!
Get your arse in gear and out the door young lady.
You know you will be fine after those first few steps and you will feel much better afterwards. I assume you had a reason for starting the program and that should still be motivation for you now.
Just bite the bullet and do it - you will feel so pleased afterwards!!
Go Zoe!
Go, go,go!!! Put your gear on and you're halfway there! I couldn't count the amount of times I reeeeeeally haven't wanted to go, but feel so glad I have when I get back. And you're SO close!!
It's perfectly normal. I have a right old argument with myself....shall I run? Ooh it's cold! I could run? Nah, do it tomorrow.....bla bla bla. Only one answer. Do it!! I will add though there is no such thing as 'getting behind' with this programme......you decide on your run days...if you're finding every other day too much, that's normal! Many of us took more than 9 weeks, I took 12. So, did you do it??
You know it makes sense. 10 mins in you will wonder why you made such a fuss.
It's certainly not a sign of wanting to quit - it's an opportunity to build up good self-motivation techniques - aka bribes. Leave yourself out a plate of biscuits and a mug with teabag ready to go for when you get back, or whatever it is that makes you tick, bottle of gin, takeaway menu, whatever, but first you must run!
If you didn't listen to all of the above and are still sitting lethargically wondering where your mojo is, then I will give some different advice. Those continuous runs are tough. You are still a rookie runner and will be for some time, so it takes it out of you while you are still increasing the demands on your body. If you need an extra rest day, then fine, take it, but don't forget why you started C25k and don't ever forget to look at how much you have already achieved.
It is worth the effort, believe me. In a few months time you will be reaping the health benefits of all the hard work that you have put in and you will be fitter and happier and laughing at your motivational crisis.
Keep running, keep smiling.
Well after reading everyone's replies and having a quiet word with myself I went and did w8 r3 last night.i was in a better state of mind to start with and I think having 4 days rest actually did me good.it was the easiest out of the 3 runs and my pace was slightly faster than usual too.i usually struggle with my breath up until around 10mins but there was none of that yesterday, just a regular pace and regular breathing throughout. One more week to go now and I can't wait!
I started Couch to 5k three months ago. I hadn't run before and I'm 64. I started at week one and when I found a week a bit hard I repeated it. I am now running for 30minutes three times a week. Sometimes I find it more difficult than others but if I do I take a little break in the 30mins. With this approach I tend to feel I am doing something, and it's better than staying in bed. I feel so much better for the exercise and get a real buzz from it.
