Just about to head out with my new garmin forerunner 110, an ebay steal for £65 brand new in the box. Felt I needed something to spur on my running as I was finding it really hard to go out recently. I am the 'runner' in a triathlon team at Woburn Tri For Life on sept 7th and my training has been very hit and miss, only 1 run last week.
As well as lack of enthusiasm, work and children have been a problem due to holidays etc. Is anyone else finding their routine is out of sync now the holidays are in full swing? I am now panicking that I will let the team down so out I go with miss garmin.
I will report back later.

Congrats on the new Garmin, you'll love it. So many things on it to play with/keep you occupied. On the training front: mine is very hit and miss, with a whole 3 weeks missing but on Friday as a test of myself I set a tentative target give or take 2 miles and did the full length version. So don't worry about letting your team mates down - you won't, you will do it and you will have the event atmosphere to help you.
Enjoy the new technology...I'm awaiting a Garmin after never really getting on with Map My Run.
RE school holidays mucking up the routine - yes, I've found this too, and lovely as it is spending a bit more time with the kids, I'll confess I'm somewhat looking forward Sept when all our routines get back not normal! I guess you just have to do what you can, though I'm sure it will be enough, and I'm sure you won't let your team mates down!
School Holidays are fab but my routine has also gone out of the window. At one stage I hadn't run for almost 3 weeks! Getting back into the swing now though only managing twice a week at the moment. I really hope your triathlon goes well and you enjoy your Garmin
Thanks everyone for the comments. First run with my Garmin was great and tried not to look at it too much!! Unfortunately when I got home I managed to delete the run even before I had looked at the totals properly! Duh....won't do that again. As for the Tri-Athlon, I am quite enjoying the extra pressure of team work and it is really making me pull up my socks (eg. Only one glass of vino tonight as training in the morning!!)
