... I know before everyone tells me off that I should be resting today because i ran yesterday .... After falling and not completing 28 minutes all I've done is wanted to go and prove to myself that I can .... So off I went today and jogged for 28 minutes and I wasn't that far off my starting post ... Even though I felt like I went slower than yesterday
I know it's naughty but I had to go back out ... - Couch to 5K
I know it's naughty but I had to go back out ...
Well done but tsk tsk too!
An itch that needed scratching. Yeah we get the picture. Don't do it again! Tut
Walks off muttering
Only kiddin Smokey. Good lass. Now have a day off won't you
Taking it slower was clearly good - now take your rest day(s). So long as you listen to your body, sneaking in an extra run at this stage (if you are up to 28 mins, you must be on week 8) as your body has had time to adjust to regular exercise. Do remember though to pay attention to any niggles and give yourself a break between pushing yourself. Now is not the time to make friends with the injury couch!
You're brave I'm up to week 8 today and I need the breaks now for my legs to recover. I don't take failure lying down either - just goes to prove that the addiction is to success as much as it is to getting healthy
The danger now is that you think "Well that was OK" and keep pulling this stunt as and when.... until it all goes wrong - and I mean, how much more would you need spelling out that the 'rest' day is when your body is very busy repairing and restoring than after you've tumbled and scraped???!!!
But I think we do all understand why you did it today, and fervently hope you've got away with it.
I think I managed it but only just, certainly not going to be doing consecutive days agin ever my thighs are feeling rather like, what are you doing to us! I think it's the scottish in me I needed to go out there and conquer it ....but I would recommend anyone doing it rest days are for resting 😊 still very chuffed that I jogged for the 28 mins thou. 🙌
I think all of the above have given you a hard time (and I totally agree with them) but I will praise your spirit and determination at wanting to prove to yourself that you could do it. You are getting near graduation, after which many fledgling superheroes discover that they are not yet fully invincible and spend frustrating weeks not being able to practise their newly formed super running powers, simply because they overdid it.
Be careful. Keep taking rest days, keep running, keep smiling.
