Keeping on ....

It's about 10 days since I got my badge :) so this is a little post grad update on where I'm at. I was a bit worried that without the motivation of graduation looming I would be less interested in running. Not true! Phew!! I've kept up with week 9 podcasts as a way to continue 30 mins runs which are 2 days apart. I've had mixed runs, from feeling good and consistent, to hard bloody work needing grit to get to the end. But overall, running is an enjoyable half hour (well, it's longer than that if you count general faffing around getting ready, warm up walks and post stretches, bath, hair etc!!). I love that spring is here and I've done the hard part in much worse conditions of hail, rain, wind (wind is by far the worst!) and I look forward to a few weeks of enjoying running, running for longer, getting fitter and trimmer, ready for holidays in July when I already know I am packing my trainers! Now that is a first haha!!! I'm no racer, not interested in competing with others. My aim is to be able to run for one hour. Feeling proud and content with where I'm at given this running malarky has transformed my attitude to fitness, my self confidence, my self belief. Running is a bit like life....sometimes all is going smoothly then something whacks you round the head, you have to adapt, listen to your body, have a strong mind, carry on anyway and get to your goal. Happy running everyone, whatever your stage, motivation, or goal....it can only be a good thing eh?

It was a blast of optimism and happiness reading your post. As that lady says to the waiter in the restaurant after the wonderful "faking it" scene in 'When Harry met Sally", "I'll have the same thing as her".
