Hi all, first time poster but been reading over the last few weeks. I finished week 4 yesterday (yay me!) & can't quite believe how far I've come in 4 weeks but the thought of week 5 fills me with dread. Any hints or tips to get through it?? Thanks

Week 5 tips?
Hi, I did week 5 last week and it really wasn't as bad as I was expecting, in fact since Week 5 R2 I absolutely LOVE running!
I found on the 8min runs for R2 I was able to stop paying attention to the aching of my legs etc. which was vital for run 3. It's hard to explain but you can sort of zone out, I just focussed on the music and before I knew it there wasn't much left of it! Just take it at a nice pace for you and you can do it!!!
I'd get a few good songs loaded up. Don't put yourself under pressure, and go slow to start then drop back even further and just take it as it comes. You'll be fine, there's lots of us here for support. We'll be with you!!! 🏃🏻❤️
Hello Denise and welcome. Really well done in getting to week 5, that's brilliant.
The programme is designed carefully so you are more than ready for week 5. Just do what you've been doing and listen to Laura. Run very slowly, repeat if you need to and stretch afterwards. The w5r3 run is the one most people are frightened of but as I've said, you will be ready for it. It is as much of a mental challenge as a physical one so just ignore what your head says and just do it! You'll be fab!
Don't dread.......it is not helpful. Week 5 is a crucial week, in that it really is the week when you will actually believe that you can graduate and that you can become a runner, so my tip is believe in yourself now. Remind yourself how far you have come, in just a few weeks and relish the challenge with respect, not fear. Follow the advice above. Stay calm and smile. Good luck. You will do it!!!
Good advice above.
Plus: enjoy W5, it is just part of your running life and you'll manage it.
Also, find a new route - go out and see some different scenery, anything to distract you as you are running.
