Looking at week 5 day 3 and it is saying a 20 minute run in between warm up and cool down. I have done the first 4 weeks. But I’m concerned as I can only just do 5 mins. What should I do? x

Thank you x

You'll be surprised. I bet you can do it! I felt apprehensive when I spotted that. Had a chat with myself about it beforehand and made it the full 20 mins without stopping. Trust in the work you have done and you'll smash it. Just focus on it in 5 minute chunks. You'll have done 2x 8mins before it, so you know you can run over 5 mins non-stop. If it's still really tough, repeat a week and feel confident. Go for it!

Hi. Thank you. I’m doing the one with 8 minute run tomorrow. (Trying to)! I will try and break it down to 5 minute windows.

Thanks again x

I hope so. I was thinking maybe 54 is too old to start?!! But reading the forum has been great x

Not at all! There are plenty much older! Just slow down and slow down again as the runs get longer 👌🏽

I started at 65!! Dont make the mistake of trying to run fast. Just plod !! And like others have said do 5 mins, then 5 more and then you’re halfway, 5 more and there’s “ONLY” 5 left!!

When I started I used to run out halfway and then turn and run the other half back and you eventually get to recognise more or less where you are in your run. And you can see the end !!! 😂

Good luck and don’t build it up too much in your head first

You should read this healthunlocked.com/couchto5... and relax.

You can do this.

Thank you so much for showing me this. Yes I feel so much more positive about it now. To be honest when I first saw it I thought it was a printing error and should of been 10 mins!!

I’ll absolutely try my best tomorrow now. Thanks again x

Week 5 is really when you realise that it's mind over matter. I'm on Week 7, and now can see that the early weeks have been training your body, but now when the longer runs kick in, it's all about training your mind. If you look back, everyone will say that W5R3 is the shortest work out since week 3, so if you managed that, then you can manage week 5. Good luck!
