Without wanting to look smug or dismissive, you'll find the run to be surprisingly doable. And when you complete it, you'll feel an amazing buzz, and will be wearing the biggest grin ever!
Good luck, and enjoy it!
If I can do it anyone stands a fairly good chance, keep going. I'm on a real high as today, I decided to go for W9R1 and miss out week 8. Maybe should not have but, I did and DID IT! This is from the huffing and puffing, unable to speak and thinking every step may be my last seveal weeks ago to now. Just believe you can.
It sounds like a big jump, but really trust in Laura, if you've done all the previous runs, you can do it, and when you do you will be so pleased with yourself, you will have the biggest chuffty grin, ever !!
Take it slow and enjoy 👍
my current running pace is 3mph, how much slower can I go without walking lol
Stephen
It is a jump but all the hard work done with Laura will pay off. Trust yourself and Laura. You can do it. Keep us posted and good luck. Happy running.
Ha yes! 3mph if that's your comfortable pace Stephen you do it at that speed! cant wait till you post you've done it, good luck 🍀
Most of us here thought exactly the same thing but the programme has prepared you for this run so you can do it. At this stage your mental attitude is as important as your physical stamina. Just take it slowly, take nice big deep breaths and just think how great you'll feel when you've done it!
You can do it ! Yes you can....really...and then you will see that 30 mins is looking like a real possibility. 3mph is just fine.
I see other people going at 5 - 6mph and feel at times as if I am not doing it properly. I think if I was running that fast, I would be still trying to get past week 1.

Everything you have done do far has prepared you to run 20 minutes. The problems are more likely to be mental than physical. Try to think of the run as a series of shorter objectives you can tick off - concentrate on reaching the next junction or lamp post. Give your mind a counting task or something to stop it thinking about the time to go. Plan your run to avoid headwind. You will surprise yourself.
It does sound a big jump to suddenly run for 20 mins. Trust Laura and yourself you can do it. Laura will get you there.
Good luck and enjoy it
You're doing well to have a slow manageable pace. But once you get into longer runs, you might feel tempted to speed up. It may feel frustrating, but some people have fly away success, getting up to great speeds quite early on, and others do best by sticking slow. It sounds like you're best off staying slow but that doesn't mean you wont speed up later on. Just keep a steady pace throughout your run, and keep reminding yourself to stay steady. You may laugh but I had no idea w5r3 was going to be the leap it was. I switched on the podcast and Laura told me today you'll run for 20mns and I just took a deep breath and did it. Just keep listening for each 5mins, and take each bit as it comes. Youre well on the path to being a runner now. Lots of luck!
