My first run in the rain. I have to say, it reminded me of school PE lessons, when we would play hockey (for me, I use play in its loosest term) and finish with itchy legs and a need to sleep through chemistry.
But, this time I feel very proud of myself. No excuses to try and remain indoors and some me time when I needed it.
My first 90 second run was accompanied by a very excited Yorkshire Terrier from our local animal rescue centre. It made me run a little faster than I should have, but thankfully the 2 minute brisk walk managed to get me back in track with no lasting effects.
As for the monkeys. As someone who has spent most of her life looking out for others, here is my mantra to keep me focused on myself (even if it is just for 30 minutes 3 times a week). When I start to feel he need to sacrifice time set aside for me to sort something for someone else, that they can sort for themselves.
