I wouldn't worry about it Jax, it goes like that sometimes, just go and do it again until it feels right.

Thanks, just really strange though that the 20 minutes was ok. I'll keep going till it feels right again.

Don't worry W6 catches a lot of people out!! It certainly did me. Take a couple of rest days, re run and move on :) onwards and upwards!

Thank you, think that's a good call. I certainly didn't expect this for two ten minute runs πŸ˜•.

Don't big it up, Jax, it's s slight hitch, not a disaster-trend! :) We all get them, and get past them, and you'll be exactly the same! Go Jax!

Thanks JohnBlake, I think that it just took me by surprise.... I haven't heard of anything like this before. But it ain't stopping me!! 😊

It's funny. Some days you run no problem. The next you struggle with 5 minutes. It happens to everyone, just chalk it up to a bad run and move on.

Weird how this happens and to most people. As you say, onwards and upwards. Appreciate your reply.... thanks 😊

Ah, the dreaded week 6 intervals...

As others have said, lots of people get caught out by the intervals in week 6. I'm not sure if it's the coming down from the high of the week 5 run 3 or if we just all set off too fast, but this week is renowned for causing trouble. Put it behind you. You will see it off next time. This was just a reminder that it does take effort. We all need to have overcome one bad run before finishing the program to make sure we have the determination to keep running once the program is finished. After this week, there are no more intervals - just the head gremlins to put firmly in their place and then you will have all the skills and fitness you need to set you up as a runner for life! Look on it as a lesson learned and move on. :)

Ah yes, those head gremlins, need to get their act together! Thanks for everything. I need to get this twinging leg muscle ache sorted before I re do wk6r1, think I'll do a bit of cycling this week to keep going.

Don't panic. You are a couple of weeks away yet. All you have to remember is to slow it down and don't expect the intervals to be easy after week 5

Believe it, you will be able to, faith in Laura and her brilliant guidance. I had to re do wk5, but wow, I amazed myself like so many others and got there. Lots of luck to you, as Agedsnailspace said, watch out for those head gremlins....you can do it! 😊

One bad run does not a couch potato make. πŸ˜‰

Go out there next time and slow it down a bit

Yes, as everyone else said, week six catches us out. We are elated after the achievement of W5R3, and think that W6 is going to be a doddle. I guess we let our guard down, and probably set off to quickly for the W6 runs thinking they will be so easy.

Dont worry, the program works. The previous runs have prepared you for W6, and you can definately do it. After W5 the challenge is mainly mental rather than physical. So, remember to start your run at a gentle pace. Listen to the lovely Laura, and do as she tells you, and all will be well.

Happy running :)

Thanks Zev, I did approach week 6 thinking that this is all going to be good this week and let my guard down. Once bitten though, it won't happen again!
