It gets better. But like everything worth doing it takes a bit of time, hard work and dedication.

You get stronger and fitter and the runs you struggled with at the beginning become easier.

A big well done for getting the first week finished. The hardest IMO.

It’s going to feel hard at first if you’ve not been doing any exercise

Stick with it, nice and steady, no hurry, no need to push

Give it time! 🙂👍

Yeah I am going to stick with the programme. Jo Wiley is doing a fine job getting me through it. Just snow holding me back today.

Thanks for your words - looking forward to 5K - although I have to say my current running pace is not much faster than my fast walking pace. But my heart rate goes up and I get a sweat on which I'll take as a move in the right direction.

YOU will get better.

Its very early days and you are running in awful weather. For now just focus on getting out there and getting it done. You are building an engine up that will keep you running for 30minutes non-stop. Well done!

Make sure you warm up well, especially in colder weather. You might need to add something else before your warm up walk runnersworld.com/ask-coach-...

Also make sure you are drinking enough in the day before your run. There are lots of tips in the plan guide healthunlocked.com/couchto5...

Keep it up.

I do like to ski - but that's not the sole reason for giving running a go. However taking on board your warm up advice and in an attempt to get fitter for skiing on 3/3 I think some deep/slow squats and stretches may fit the bill before my run. Thanks

Finished week 2. Went well. Really well and run 3 today - a day late due a sea of black ice - actually felt like running. What a difference a week can make.

Not what you're looking for?
